Colombia is a country with several subcultures like Afro. An important part of Colombian people are black, in every single place of the country we can find an afrocolombian. However is sad that these group of people have one of the most high rate of poverty, unemployment, mortality and illiteracy. This is a problem that we can not ignore, on the contrary we need to be conscious, for in this way we will start to help. Otherwise afrocolombian also fight with social segregation, something that is not right because no matter our skin color, everybody deserve respect.
I agree with everything you say. Colombia has Latin America`s second largest black population. after brazil. Even though We are in the XXI century, many afro colombians are still working in domestic services and lots of low skilled labor positions. They lived in areas surrounded with the highest indices of violence and poverty. We need to do something in order to help them.
ReplyDeleteYou are being correct on your apreciation. I just want to add that the key is in our hands. We are the ones who create the differences and now we must be the ones who stop it. Racism is just a sample of intolerance and any showing of it is directly related to us because it is the begining of the destruction of our own world.
